BOOKS FOR LIFE

*This parallel world remains unseen in the daily struggles of most of humanity, but, believe me, it is there: a cesspool of duplicity and lies and double-speak and innuendo and blackmail and bribery. It is a surreal world of double and triple agents, of changing loyalties, of professional psychotic assassins, brainwashed black ops agents, soldiers of fortune and mercenaries, whose primary sources of income are the dirtiest and most despicable government-run subversive missions-the kind that can never be exposed.

Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, and Stimulants
Dangerous Drugs on Trial (2007) - David Tanton PhD
http://www.drtanton.com/product/0-9772703-2-7

“This book exposes a major marketing scheme that is currently under way, and unfortunately our children are the primary targets. It all began with the 374 "different newly created mental conditions" to justify placing our children, (including preschoolers), on one or more of their "very profitable" drugs that, although legal, can still be lethal! The mental screening process falls under the recently mandated federal TeenScreen program, and was deliberately designed to assure that many "perfectly normal children" would now qualify for one or more of their very profitable drugs.” … (For example) “With approximately 575 potential side effects associated with Prozac that were listed with the FDA, and over 20,000 law suits settled by the maker Eli Lilly, to date, the question is: Why is Eli Lilly still being allowed to promote ProzacT for even pregnant mothers, and very young children? “

Peter Lehmann & Peter Stastney

http://www.mindfreedom.org/mad-market/alternatives-beyond/

Learn about what is actually happening with alternatives to current mainstream psychiatric practices and how people have gone about making them happen. Note: Jim Gottstein (PsychRights.org) has written a chapter “Money, Rights and Alternatives: Enforcing Legal Rights as a Mechanism for Creating Non-medical Model Alternatives”.

"My idea for writing the book was … to help people to think about how we treat each other daily. … Something you start here or say here may affect somebody's whole day, maybe their whole life. Ten minutes of what Freeman did to me has affected me for 47 years." Howard Dully

Psyched Out - How Psychiatry Sells Mental Illness and Pushes Pills that Kill

"Investigative reporter, Kelly Patricia O'Meara wins overwhelmingly with unassailable details and facts. O'Meara is the one and only journalist I know who is not embedded with, owned or intimidated by the psychiatric-pharmaceutical cartel". Fred Baughmam, MD.

The dragnet of psychiatric diagnosis is the ever-growing Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a handbook of behaviors that are considered deviant and in need of treatment. The conditions listed are in the realm of ideas. Delusions and hallucinations are merely a refusal to see reality like the majority sees it. There is no physical marker, nothing that could be healed by chemical or surgical intervention. Yet, psychiatric screening for those differing views is being extended to all schools in America, through a controversial program that is geared to increase the prescribing base for costly and most damaging mind altering drugs.

Mad In America: Bad Science, Bad Medicine,
and The Enduring Mistreatment
of the Mentally Ill by
Robert Whitaker

Mr. Whitaker is a recipient of the prestigious George Polk Award for Medical Writing and a National Association for Science Writers' Award for best magazine article (which appeared in Fortune). In 1998, he co-wrote a series on psychiatric research for the Boston Globe which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. He is the former director of publications at Harvard Medical School.

"Investigative journalism at its scholarly, perceptive, and explanatory best. Mad in America presents an insightful, courageous expose of how madness went from 'out of sight, out of mind,' to be a source of massive corporate profits. A must read for anyone with a friend or family member labeled 'mentally ill,' for psychiatric 'survivors,' mental health professionals, and those interested in the history of science and the corporate buyout of a profession."

Former Chief of Schizophrenia Studies
