I am writing in response to the three following (Council of Canadians) exceptional flyers seeking to inform the Canadian populace by unseating commonly-held myths.

October 9, 2007 FDA Industry Insiders Derail Approval of New Cancer Treatments

In Canada the argument is "Profit is Not the Cure" as we persistently struggle to maintain OUR public healthcare against steady encroachment by the medical industry, i.e. it is steadily being gutted by private-public partnerships (politicians/CEOs). BUT:

What the public does not know is that - it “don't” really matter who pays the tab -- the core problem with healthcare is that it is corporate-controlled (for-profit) from every perspective and in every aspect, producing astronomical profits for the few, while wreaking human misery and an early death (debilitation/disability/depopulation) for everyone in general. As far as I can judge, those who have privatized the most (U.S.) have in consequence a much clearer understanding of established medicine in its wanton disregard for the sanctity of life.

I noticed when I clicked the action button at the “Profit Is Not the Cure” site – straight away I can “write to Harper” backed up with a “write to my MP”. Now why would we do this? The Conservative promote Private-Public Partnerships as a weapon to privatize – literally everything. Now why would I write to my MP who is a Liberal? The Liberal/Conservative Party plays ping-pong with our votes, while promoting the exact same corporatist platform. “Corporatism is Fascism”. Mussolini

Why not directly – inform - the Canadian Peoples who are/have been/will be fed upon by the established (corporate, institutional, professional) medical industry? A creative option already accessed by Council of Canadians are the above-mentioned flyers, but with a difference. Instead of providing argumentation over examples of healthcare “systems” [read PhRMA Factory (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturers of America)]--Let’s provide examples as to what it is we are actually paying for, when we support “public healthcare”. And in so doing provide the Canadian populace with a greater understanding as to – why it is our public healthcare “system” may be having a problem in “paying the piper”.

I would suggest informing myth bustin’ examples pertinent to alternative, independent (to/from manufacturer’s meme expressed in corporate media), objective science truths that are primarily involved in medical expenditures. By this I mean – little stories from ‘round the world -- guiding the reader into processing thought for themselves and in consequence, doing their own research by further questioning the validity of established medicine paid for by their tax dollar, having first obtained some clue as to why it is that medicine is so damned expensive—regardless of who is paying the tab. i.e. provide the Canadian populace with some tools to envision the many creative money-saving, albeit rarely patentable ($s), options available to us.
Possible examples of wilful immunosuppression and disease-mongering…

1. AIDS does not exist as it is defined by established medicine. HIV does not equal AIDS. AZT kills. An example story of human misery (physical disease and mental distress) and death might also note the three dozens of diseases directly related to malnutrition and more related to unsanitary conditions that are products of human displacement (Africa) that are all presently being labelled as AIDS, for which expensive AZT is the “medicine”.

2. Vaccination does not exist as it is defined by established medicine. Having antibodies in one’s body does not equal freedom from disease. Vaccines maim and kill. An example story of human misery (physical and mental distress) and death-evasion might also note that private insurance companies do not cover “acts of God” and vaccination, in accordance with how this worked its way out, as a part of an individual’s life story.

3. Cancer does not exist as it is defined by established medicine. Having a malignant tumor does not equal fatal disease. Cancer treatments maim and kill. Example story might be an individual’s story of return to productive health, while noting that their medical practitioner is being harassed out of practice, in accordance with for example: Codex Alimentarius regulations (Health Canada/FDA).

4. Mental Illness does not exist as it is defined by established medicine. Being overwhelmed by a peak episode of mental distress, a consequence of problems in living (oppression, repression, suppression), whether realised or not, does not equal an organic brain disease. Psychiatric treatments (drugs, electroshock, surgery) maim and kill. Example story might be that of an individual maimed for years/decades (debilitation/life-long disability) by established Health and Human Service Industry, but through supportive, psychosocial mechanisms they found holism, peace, and functionality through a mind-healing into a spirit recovery.
The title of such a pamphlet might pertain to the extravagant costs of for-profit medicine. You might begin with a definition for Iatrogenesis. An example from my latest book “Little Davey--View of Reality” (ChipmunkaPublishing, U.K.) as follows…

In 1974, Ivan Illich popularised a term, Iatrogenesis, for the ‘new’ epidemic of doctor-made disease –
• Clinical, when sickness is caused by medical care;
• Social, when health policies reinforce ill health;
• Structural when the medical profession undermines the confidence of people in their
own ability to recover.

In his critique of Illich, Vicente Navarro saw that the responsibility for iatrogenesis did not lie with the medical profession but with the powerful corporate classes, which decide what and how health care is delivered. The corporate classes control governments, insurers and PhRMA companies, which, in turn, have almost taken over medical education.
* John Merson calls this phenomenon “Epistemic Capture” meaning the control of knowledge by vested interests.

The costs of corruption and fraud in the established medical industry (beginning with academic indoctrination/programming or professionalism), public brain-washing and meme completion with direct-to-politician propaganda or public-private partnerships will continue to denigrate, negate and finally nullify the health and well-being of the population.

Obviously, public healthcare cannot survive based solely on pursuing financial considerations of – who is to pay the tab!

Mental Health Parity & SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program

I just received this -- hidden in the bill for childrens' healthcare is a "mental health parity" -- it will be disastrous both to states' capacity to pay and to the massive #s of additional children who will suddenly be ingesting these damaging toxic drugs, while those already receiving will be subjected to increased polypharmacy. Only those profiting off of the damage perpetrated through greater dissemination of these chemicals will gain.

Excerpted Statement from Vince Boehm:
We all know that President George W Bush vetoed the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, called SCHIP. A proposed bill recently passed in the Congress to expand SCHIP from $5 billion yearly by $35 billion over five years was vetoed by George W. Bush.

SCHIP covered 6.9 million children at some point during Federal fiscal year 2006, and every state has an approved plan. States are given flexibility, and an enhanced match is paid to states. Some states have received Section 1115 demonstration authority to use SCHIP funds to cover the parents of children receiving benefits from both SCHIP and Medicaid, pregnant women, and other adults. However, the program is already facing funding shortfalls in several states.

Now we see yet another Pharma assault on poor kids and children of color deeply buried in the fine print of this massive document. This bill for the first time contains mental health parity and eliminates a provision to ration mental health services in states that already provide this to SCHIP recipients. This provision will do nothing more than fatten the bottom lines of drug companies and their insurance industry friends.

The violence initiative is alive and well. We have witnessed time and again the misuse of powerful psychoactive drugs on children, even those without a psychiatric label. Adding psychiatry on the proposed massive scale could easily double the costs for this program and perhaps push these already beleaguered states into bankruptcy and default. It will add billions to the federal budget, and will produce overwhelming negative outcomes for the kids.

I certainly do not oppose expanding general health care to children who need it, but oppose spending tax payers dollars to finance the violence initiative. I oppose the catastrophic collateral damage that a massive influx of psychoactive meds will leave in it's wake for these 10 million children.

The issue has not been reported as such in the media.
If passed this will be a disaster.

Below is a list of those who voted no on the original bill. It is important that you contact these Congressmen and tell them why you do not support the extension of mental health services to these 10 million children. They are under massive pressure to pass this bill, and need a way to reach a compromise on this situation. Taking out the mental health provisions will accomplish this.

Call other Congressmen as well and express your concerns.

This is a money issue. The lawmakers need a bargaining chip, and the mental health issue will fill the bill. If the lawmakers eliminate the mental health provision in conference and the cost will come out in the affordable range.

Tell your Congressman why the mental health provision should not be passed.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons is a national organization of physicians in all specialties, founded 1943 to preserve and promote the practice of private medicine, the sanctity of the patient-physician relationship and ethical medical practices. We represent thousands of physicians of all specialties nationwide, and the millions of patients that they serve.

Congress does not itself have the constitutional authority to dictate the practice of medicine, create mandates for private insurance companies or to determine the validity of a diagnostic tool as a payment mechanism.

1. Congress has no authority to regulate the practice of medicine

We are concerned with the fact that the Federal government, which is not authorized under the constitution, specifically Article 1, continues to interfere in the practice of medicine. Medicine has historically been regulated at the State level and each time Congress interferes with the practice of medicine, it violates the 9th and 10th amendment, usurps power not granted by the Constitution, and creates the future perceived need to further intervene to fix secondary problems caused by the original intervention. The Constitution established a national government of delegated, enumerated, and thus limited powers. It is clear from our founding fathers that they too saw no place for the Federal government to interfere in the practice of medicine. Specifically, James Madison wrote, in the Federalist, No. 45:"The powers delegated to the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce.... The powers reserved to the States will extend to all objects of which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concerns the lives, liberties and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the State."

2. Restoration of true insurance markets

Congress does not have the authority to interfere in the business of insurance. Congressional interference has turned a freer market into a managed market in which mutually beneficial exchanges between buyers and sellers have been impaired. This has led to the general increase of cost of medicine, the reduction in innovation in goods and services, and the mistaken conflation of insurance with medical care. Instead of adding unconstitutional mandates to private insurance companies, Congress should move to abolish all mandates, regulations, and controls. Deregulation of the insurance market by the Federal government would allow individual insurance companies to meet the needs of their clients and allow for unique and innovative insurance products to be developed and offered to the public at large. More importantly, it would free up intellectual capital that is now wasted on compliance costs for actual use in patient care. We oppose the top-down command-and-control system that is now in place and its further centralization and manipulation through coercive expansions of the core benefit package. Instead, we support deregulation of the insurance market as well as of the practice of medicine.

3. Psychiatry differs from other medical specialties

A mental-health parity mandate will turn the current diagnostic standards for psychiatry, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM- IV), into a standard for payment as well. The DSM-IV remains consensus driven, unsupported by clear empirical data. Neither taxpayer-supported nor private insurers should be forced to cover conditions diagnosable only by consensus of/by self-interested psychiatrists and their partners in the pharmaceutical industry. If insurance subscribers or clients believe mental health coverage or service to be of value, and are thus willing to pay for it, this will be offered in the free market on a contractual basis. All insurance subscribers should not be forced to pay for services that they do not consider to be of value.

The concept of "biopsychiatry," or more popularly "chemical imbalance" is at present merely a theory. Based on this theory, billions of dollars are spent by both public and private entities specifically for psychoactive drugs. Careful post-marketing surveillance of the benefits and harms of such drugs is greatly needed and seriously lacking. Some reports suggest that drugs often cause more problems than they ameliorate, and may induce objective ailments, such as diabetes, which then must be treated. As drugs either first or second line treatment protocol for most so-called "mental illnesses," a mental health treatment mandate can be anticipated to result in increased drug usage, with its attendant problems, and hence an increase in expenditures for both psychiatric and medical treatment.

Conclusion:

Whether through genuine good intentions, or responsiveness to the demands of special interest groups, the Federal government should not regulate or restrict the freedom of the people to access medical care, to privately contract with insurance companies for the goods and services they agree to, and to utilize treatments based on their own needs. Nor should the federal government force people to use or pay for services they do not perceive to be of value. The distinction between objective measurement and subjective reporting, and between empirical data and consensus-driven diagnostic tools, must be recognized. Mental health parity should be opposed on the basis of the U. S. Constitution, ethical medicine, and good science.

Canadian peoples continue to state their political will for Medicare--a publicly-funded and publicly-delivered system. Social enterprises must be not-for-profit, otherwise the people receiving service become the “fodder for profit”. Intuitively the Canadian peoples’ life experienced wisdom tells us that healthcare, most especially, must not be allowed to make of us – a raw resource for profit.

I do appreciate that as an earnest, hard-working, intelligent, responsible young man with a very difficult, highly complex and stressful job to do that you (Prime Minister Harper) would naturally seek out professionals who are experts in their field to advise you in your decision-making. So I would like to suggest to you how to go about deciding on who best to listen to and to what degree.

1. The most important thing is to have anyone advising you to reveal all their financial associations. This is a critical step!
2. Have faith! There are exceptionally qualified, medical researchers who have never accepted remuneration from PhRMA (pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers). They are abundant in the “alternative” healthcare industry, which is admirably resistant to PhRMA incentives, while fighting to continue to provide valid, healthcare options to their consumers of service.
3. The established medical industry is a for-profit industry founded on expensive drugs and surgery. There will always be a place for this format for medicine. But, objective science suggests that its appropriate niche is actually quite small due to its propensity; accept in exceptional circumstances, to create more disease than it cures.
4. The CMA is only one medical organisation. The American experience should alert us to the fact that professional arrogance can falsely lead established peer groups into accepting financial gifts from corporate--with a view that this could never demean their integrity. 5. The “best practices” regime founded on balanced and evidence-based research by established (corporate) medicine is invariably and readily discernible as PhRMA-paid research. Rewards for submissive compliance to PhRMA demands has already permeated every medical sector--beginning with education. In consequence, verification of all supporting research is absolutely necessary to avoid the direct-to-legislator advertisement.

There really oughta be a law against it! For example: The 1994 edition of the psychiatry profession’s single most influential guideline, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, was recently found to have been written by a panel of experts among whom 56% had at least one financial relationship with a pharmaceutical manufacturer. For experts writing guidelines for severe mental illness such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia — diagnoses that have been broadened significantly in recent years — 100% had ties to drug-makers, according to the study, which was published in Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. Former Defence Minister, Gordon O’Connor has stated that we are “fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan in ‘retribution’ for the 9/11 attacks” (Ottawa Citizen – Jan 21, 2007). Canada has not investigated whether there is actually any evidence linking Osama Bin Laden or the Taliban to the attacks of September 11, 2001. As in the case of Mr. Leonard Peltier over three decades ago and now the imminent extradition of Mr. John Graham, the Canadians’ Governing Representatives accepted an accusation by the United States --at face value. Usama Bin Laden has NOT been indicted or charged by the FBI in association with the attacks of September 11, 2001. In response to independent news media request for information, Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI stated that, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/1l”, which explains all those missed opportunities in his capture.

On behalf of the Canadian peoples, our elected representatives should have launched an official judiciary investigation into 9/11 before unofficially declaring war against Afghanistan and to enflame offence to injury, extending our “combat role” in Afghanistan until 2009. Similarly, an official judicial investigation by Canadian justice authorities into the case of Mr. John Graham’s F.B.I. alleged criminal behaviour should be conducted prior to any legal threat of his extradition to the U.S.

Instead our elected representatives joined with their US counterparts to wage a war of aggression in Afghanistan, to secure profits for corporate from a proposed oil pipeline, shipping oil north/south through Afghanistan and then to eastern Canada and the US, while continuing to ship Canadian oil/gas north/south, rather than from west/east before shipping south (NAFTA), and with no plans to construct west/east pipelines in Canada (SPP-in process), while planning to construct 5 more north/south pipelines (SPP-done deal). And all the while eastern Canadians are forced to import almost half our energy from OPEC countries, including Iraq. I expect these steps are pursuant to the North American Union Energy Assimilation (NAU-EA!) plan of the CEO-directed SPP, co-requisite to collaboration with US Militarism fuelling annexation of the N. American continent into a single U.S. border perimeter (thereby enabling a psychotic, globalist, full-spectrum domination hallucination or New World Order resourcing a New American Century of global colonialism “Fortress America”, which will no doubt make the first centuries of genocide look like a Walt Disney caricature of “cowboys and Indians”).

The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) Agenda

The Security and Prosperity Partnership is such a big agreement, with so many policy recommendations in so many areas, that it sometimes feels like we need a ten-page essay to fully explain why it is such a rotten deal for Canada. But it isn’t really all that complicated. The Council of Canadians opposes the SPP for five main reasons related to its impact on democracy, water, energy, military and foreign policy, and the real security of citizens across the continent.

(1) The SPP is anti-democratic

The SPP is the political manifestation of a corporate plan for economic and security integration that was never voted on in any country. Big business lobbies like the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE) drafted almost all of the SPP’s 300 initiatives and they continue to be the only Canadian group with any input into the SPP. In May 2006, Prime Minister Stephen Harper put 10 members of the CCCE onto a permanent high-level advisory board called the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC). This group has been asked to “prioritize the priorities” in the SPP and to “drive change.” Meanwhile, the public and most of our publicly elected officials have been left out of the picture completely.

(2) The SPP is a waste of energy

Energy is arguably the sticky goo holding the SPP together. Canada and Mexico have agreed to give U.S. oil companies an even tighter grip of both countries’ resources in return for vague assurances that the U.S. won’t shut the border to our goods. In Canada, that means guaranteeing a fivefold increase in tar sands production, no matter what the consequences for the environment and public health – and even if it makes greenhouse gas reductions impossible. Pipelines are under construction to ship raw bitumen out of Alberta and to U.S. refineries, which means we’re not even securing any jobs out of this energy fire sale. In Mexico, while their oil and gas industry is miraculously still state-owned, the corporate lobby behind the SPP is pushing for privatization. Clearly, this “partnership” is about U.S. energy security at the expense of Canadian and Mexican jobs and the environment, and is therefore an incredible waste of energy for Canada.

(3) The SPP will lead to bulk water exports

An SPP roundtable on the “Future of the North American Environment” on April 27, 2007 in Calgary discussed “water consumption, water transfers and artificial diversions of bulk water,” with the aim of achieving “joint optimum utilization of the available [North American] water.” The meeting was part of the White House-funded North American Future 2025 Project that has Canadian government backing as a venue “to help guide the ongoing Security and Prosperity Partnership,” according to a CanWest news article. “It's no secret that the U.S. is going to need water,” project leader Armand Peschard-Sverdrup told the Ottawa Citizen. “It's no secret that Canada is going to have an overabundance of water. At the end of the day, there may have to be arrangements.” Those “arrangements” are clearly being discussed behind closed doors and must cease immediately.

(4) The SPP makes Canadians less secure

Joint Canada-U.S. no-fly lists, exclusive airport service for “trusted travellers,” and racially based immigration policies that criminalize people from “high risk” countries. These are among a few of the extremely disturbing “security” measures contained in the SPP. The simple fact that Maher Arar is still on the U.S. no-fly list, despite exoneration and a formal apology from the RCMP and our federal government, is proof that none of these measures can make Canadians any safer. In fact, they increase the insecurity of thousands of people who may be banned from flying, unnecessarily detained, or even deported because of where they were born or with whom they associate.

(5) The SPP ties us to the U.S. “war on terror”

The SPP ties Canada even closer to a militaristic U.S. government and will inevitably erode any differences that currently exist between our two countries’ foreign and defence policies. Already we see Canada amplifying its role in Afghanistan and advertising the fact on billboards in Washington, D.C. We see a shift in stance on Middle East issues with Canada backing the U.S. position every time. And we see the big business lobby continuing to push Canada to sign on to missile defence and create a joint military command for all of North America. This is all despite public opinion polls on the Department of Foreign Affairs website showing that 83 per cent of Canadians would rather that we forge an independent foreign policy – despite the negative consequences it might have on trade with the U.S.

* It’s time to put an end to the SPP!

The Council of Canadians demands that Canada cease all talks leading toward deeper integration between Canada and the United States. At the very least, we must bring the SPP to the House of Commons for a full debate. We must also disband the North American Competitiveness Council and consult with Canadians in a meaningful and participatory way on Canada-U.S. relations. The majority of Canadians would prefer a “Sovereignty and Justice Partnership” with the United States, which protects Canada’s energy and water, preserves an independent foreign policy, and addresses real security concerns instead of the fantasies of the Bush administration.

To speak mockery of NAFTA Super Highway (TTC HB3588 2003 & Imminent Domain HB 2006 and 5^th Amendment Takings Clause Kelo vs. City of New London 2005, TX) as an “interplanetary transport” is super highway robbery of Canadian peoples’ intelligence. This daisy chain of dozens of corridors and coordinated projects will not only radically reconfigure the physical landscape of the United States, but irrevocably denigrate both the American and Canadian political, economic and social infrastructures, in a de facto merger of Immigration and Customs enforcement and the obliteration of the current national borders within the planned North American Union (persistently advocated by one of the main architects of the SPP plan, Professor Robert Pastor of American University and the Council on Foreign Relations). It is a nonsensical travesty, Duh! Mr. Harper, to support “Canadians’ Sovereignty over The Northwest Passage” by “new military spending”, when the Canadian military was subsumed under USNORTHCOM at a time of US Martial Law (2002), which gifts control-over Canada's territorial waters to the US.

Dear Minister,

As Members of Parliament we are writing you with great concern regarding the allegations of the use of agents provocateurs during the peaceful protests against the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America summit on August 20, 2007 at Montebello, Quebec.

Along with hundreds of other Canadian citizens who participated in the Monday protest, we were both alarmed at the enormous police presence. We are more shocked at the allegations that inside agents, appearing to be working with riot police, attempted to provoke a violent incident during the peaceful demonstration. Video and photograph evidence has led to many unanswered questions.

We are calling on you as Minister to order an immediate inquiry to uncover whether or not agent provocateurs were used at the peaceful protests in Montebello.

If agent provocateurs were present, the public deserves answers to valid questions, including:

• Who are the three individuals alleged to be agent provocateurs?
• Was the Government of Canada informed that such measures would be used as part of the security detail at the summit?
• Were the RCMP or other security forces at the summit, including from the US, privy to the use of such a security tactic?
• Who was responsible for providing direction to the agents? , Were the agents directed to use force and/or violent means to disrupt the peaceful protest?
• Finally, if agent provocateurs were used, what was the expected outcome in deliberately trying to destabilize a democratic protest in Canada?

We believe these are critical questions that cannot go ignored - questions that concern the relationship between state security forces and the potential infringement of democratic rights to peaceful assembly protest and to freedom of expression. As Dave Coles, President of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union said “in a free and democratic society, people have the right to peacefully protest something they don't like.”

We trust as the Minister for Public Security you will uphold your responsibility to show accountability and maintain public trust.

Ever since September 11, 2001 (False-Flag Op), there has been no question that the management of the Canada-United States border must evolve. The two countries quickly agreed on the 30-point Smart Border action plan in late 2001, and much has been and continues to be achieved under this umbrella. Our two countries have been working closely, sharing information, developing and deploying new tools for managing risk, expanding border infrastructure and experimenting with new ways to speed the flows of low-risk goods and travellers while improving security overall. As the CCCE suggested in launching ITS North American initiative, however, much more can and must be done. The CCCE continues to believe that a comprehensive strategy must encompass five pillars:

First, it must move beyond border management to the true reinvention of North American borders.
Second, efforts to smooth customs processing must be reinforced by a sweeping effort to reduce the costs and delays at the border caused by regulatory differences.
Third, and linked to regulatory issues, it must address issues in the resource sector to ensure that trade flows respect the twin principles of security of access and security of supply.
Fourth, it must recognize that all of the progress Canada desires on the economic front depends on a credible reinvigoration of the North American defence alliance.
Fifth, it must consider the development of a range of new institutions to manage the deepening of the Canada-United States relationship.

Bush planned Iraq 'regime change' before becoming President

A SECRET blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001.

The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice-president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Century, was written in September 2000 by the neo-conservative think-tank Project for the New American Century (PNAC).

The plan shows Bush's cabinet intended to take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. It says: 'The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.'

The PNAC document supports a 'blueprint for maintaining global US pre-eminence, precluding the rise of a great power rival, and shaping the international security order in line with American principles and interests'.

This 'American grand strategy' must be advanced for 'as far into the future as possible', the report says. It also calls for the US to 'fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theatre wars' as a 'core mission'.

The report describes American armed forces abroad as 'the cavalry on the new American frontier'. The PNAC blueprint supports an earlier document written by Wolfowitz and Libby that said the US must 'discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role'.

The Northwoods proposal was authorized and tentatively approved by the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff. It had a very clear purpose:

"1. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have considered the attached Memorandum for the Chief of Operations, Cuba Project, which responds to a request* of that office for brief but precise description of pretexts which could provide justification for U.S. military intervention in Cuba.

"2. The Joint Chiefs of Staff recommend that the proposed memorandum be forwarded as a preliminary submission suitable for planning purposes." See Operation Northwoods, page i, http://emperors-clothes.com/images/north-i.htm

The aim was disinformation, to create the false impression that Cuba had viciously attacked Americans:

"5. The suggested courses of action appended to Enclosure A are based on the premise that US military intervention will result from a period of heightened US-Cuban tensions which place the United States in the position of suffering justifiable grievances. World opinion, and the United Nations forum should be favorably affected by developing the international image of the Cuban government as rash and irresponsible, and as an alarming and unpredictable threat to the peace of the Western Hemisphere." The document argued that Cuba should be attacked within a few months, before it could join the Soviet-led Warsaw Pact. Thus the plan was not only deceitful and murderous, including, as we shall see, towards Americans, it was also cowardly:

"6. While the foregoing premise can be utilized at the present time it will continue to hold good only as long as there can be reasonable certainty that US military intervention in Cuba would not directly involve the Soviet Union." The Northwoods document was to be forwarded to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. McNamara claims he never saw it; but then, he also claims that during the 1960s he was opposed to the Vietnam War. Tell that to the families of the dead GIs whom he exhorted to kill the dead Vietnamese. I wouldn't believe Robert McNamara if he said it was Monday:

"8. It is recommended that:

"A. Enclosure A together with its attachments should be forwarded to the Secretary of Defense for approval and transmittal to the Chief of Operations, Cuba Project." See Operations Northwoods, page 3, http://emperors-clothes.com/images/north-3.htm

Northwoods recognized that the best justification for attacking Cuba was to trick Cuba into attacking U.S. forces first:

"1. Since it would seem desirable to use legitimate [sic!] provocation as the basis for US military intervention in Cuba, a cover and deception plan, to include requisite preliminary actions such as has been developed in response to Task 33 o [this may be a 'c'] could be executed as an initial effort to provoke Cuban reactions. Harassment plus deceptive actions to convince the Cubans of imminent invasion would be emphasized. Our military posture throughout execution of the plan will allow a rapid change from exercise to intervention if Cuban response justifies." But the document also called for staging phony Cuban attacks on U.S. installations:

"(5) Blow up ammunition inside the [Guantanamo] base; start fires.
(6) Burn aircraft on air base (sabotage).
(7) Lob mortar shells from outside of base onto base. Some damage to installations."

Some of the proposed attacks could be used to portray the Cubans as heartless monsters:

"It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any grouping of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.' While the plan does not actually call for killing the college students mentioned above - only seeming to kill them - the Joint Chiefs did suggest the possibility of killing some Cuban refugees, or at least wounding them, as long as there was plenty of publicity to make it all worthwhile:

"The terror campaign could be pointed at Cuban refugees seeking haven in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans enroute to Florida (real or simulated). We could foster attempts on lives of Cuban refugees in the United States even to the extent of wounding in instances to be widely publicized." Or perhaps some U.S. servicemen could be blown up:

"3. A "Remember the Maine" incident could be arranged in several forms:

Note that in #3, above, the Joint Chiefs seem to take it for granted that the sinking of the Maine, which was used to justify the Spanish-American war, was a staged incident. Keep in mind that to this day - over a hundred years after the incident - the U.S. military refuses to publicly acknowledge that the Maine was destroyed in a Northwoods-style provocation, though they privately know this was the case.

Northwoods called for elaborate schemes to create the proper illusions:

"6. Use of MIG type aircraft by US pilots could provide additional provocation. Harassment of civil air, attacks on surface shipping and destruction of US military drone aircraft by MIG type planes would be useful as complementary actions. An F-86 properly painted would convince air passengers that they saw a Cuban MIG, especially if the pilot of the transport were to announce such fact. The primary drawback to this suggestion appears to be the security risk inherent in obtaining or modifying an aircraft. There is a phrase in the text above that could be used to sum up to the morality of Northwoods as a whole: "The only drawback to this scheme appears to be security." Thus the Joint Chiefs recommended that:

The Public Safety Act, 2002 (Bill C7) grew out of Bills C 17, C55, and C42. This act amends 23 existing acts and implements the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention Act. NOTE: A search of government documents for Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention Act will direct one to The Public Safety Act.

The Public Safety Act imposes many terms that restrict civil liberties. The section dealing with interim orders grants despotic powers to a number of Cabinet Ministers such that at their individual, sole decree without prior Parliamentary oversight, approval or sanction, they can impose the police state. Eight parts of the Bill amend various statutes to provide a new power permitting the responsible Minister to make interim orders in situations where immediate action is required (as he alone determines). For example, the Minister of Health can require mandatory vaccinations and quarantine.

Interim orders under The Public Safety Act are exempt from the usual requirements of our law that are in place to prevent abuse and excess. These orders are specifically free from checks to avoid abuse or violations of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Bill of Rights. These orders avoid examination by government lawyers whose usual job is to ensure regulations and orders are not an unusual or unexpected use of authority; and that they do not trespass unduly on existing rights and freedoms.

The respective Ministers are:

* Department of Health Act - Minister of Health;
* Food and Drugs Act- Minister of Health;
* Hazardous Products Act - Minister of Health;
* Navigable Waters Protection Act - Minister of Fisheries and Oceans;
* Pest Control Products Act - Minister of Health;

Now it is clearer to understand what the gun registration was all about! Disarm the people from protecting themselves from their own government, not protection from criminals. This concept of possibly needing to protect ourselves from our government is so foreign to the Canadian psyche that most of us did not see the malevolence of the gun registry program. We became unwitting dupes to the police state agenda because of our antipathy towards violence.

And that sets the stage for an independent Quebec retaining only economic ties to Canada. Chrétien, along with Quebec Liberal leader Claude Ryan, spent the next six months giving speech after speech in Quebec, proclaiming the benefits of a united Canada. On May 20, 1980, 59.5 per cent of Quebec voters said "Non" to negotiations for sovereignty association while 40.5 per cent voted "Oui." Voter turnout was 84.3 per cent. The result was seen as a clear victory for Chrétien.

The North American Free Trade Agreement was signed in 1992 and governs trade between the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Chapter 11 of the agreement allows private companies to sue federal governments covered under NAFTA over policies that "expropriate" their profits.
Chapter 11 has two sections: Section A sets out the three countries’ obligations to foreign investors and Section B outlines a dispute resolution system that private investors can initiate if they feel a foreign government violated one of those obligations. The dispute resolution system is known as the "investor-state process."
Between one-third and one-half of all private investment in developing countries comes from foreign companies, providing much-needed capital. Chapter 11 was designed to help reduce the risk of investing in foreign economies.
The U.S. government called Chapter 11 an "historic investor-state mechanism" that would liberalize Mexican trade policies and protect U.S. companies that felt Mexico imposed unfavourable constraints on foreign investment. Mexico saw it as a way to attract foreign investment and improve its economy.
Chapter 11 embodies the strongest rights and remedies ever granted to foreign investors in an international agreement.
The process allows foreign investors to bypass a country’s domestic court system and use independent arbitrators instead. This gives foreign investors remedies unavailable to domestic investors, but also eliminates the appeals process.
Each side -- the investor and the government -- chooses one arbitrator and a third arbitrator is negotiated or chosen from a list of arbitrators by a neutral party.
At least 12 lawsuits have been filed by companies under Chapter 11 provisions since NAFTA was signed in 1992. Seven of those have arisen because of environmental laws. (There may be more than 12 that aren’t known about publicly because of the secrecy of Chapter 11 proceedings.

About the Economy Roberts stated, “Latest government statistics on employment in the U.S. (a super power with a technologically-advanced economy) that -- ¼ of all private-sector jobs (1.6 million net) created from June 2006 to June 2007 were for waitresses and bar tenders, i.e. Pleasure/Hospitality accounted for 30% and education/health services accounted for 35% (100,000 education, 456,000 health care in social assistance/support staff), (i.e.) no high tech. employment and has been this way over the 7 years of the 21^st C. (In sum) Over the entire year (2006-2007) the U.S. economy generated only 51,000 jobs in architectural and engineering services.”

About Inflation Roberts stated, “Is much higher than reported due to using schemes to belittle the figures, (e.g. stated) Core Inflation (does not measure (1) food and (2) energy), which leaves out the two biggest components in peoples’ budgets. Currently, in the 2^nd quarter we (U.S.) are running at 3% points higher than reported.”

The following is an exceptional radio interview. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts (former Secretary of the Treasury) spoke, for about 1 ½ hours (2^nd half of program).

Q: Break it down for us! What’s really going on?

A: Roberts stated, “World changed 2 days ago. When early in the morning two important spokespersons for the Chinese government announced, in their own way of course, that China controls the US interest rate, not The Federal Reserve. It took the people on Wall Street about 24 hours to comprehend, because they are so full of hubris and self-importance and we’re a super power and rah, rah and all that- that it was initially dismissed. As the Treasury Secretary Paulson said, ‘Utter nonsense’. But maybe it isn’t nonsense, because as the two Chinese spokesmen pointed out, the status of the US $ as reserve currency depends more than anything on the good will of China, because they are holding about a trillion in assets, heavily weighted with US treasury bonds, and their willingness to hold those financial instruments, even as the $ depreciates. And their willingness to continue buying them is the only reason the market for security bonds clears, otherwise the huge over-supply would drive down the price of the bonds, which means the interest rate rises, and if they were also to sell their great holdings of US $ in currency markets, the value of the $ would also head down. So a situation in the United States where the dollar was collapsing and interest rates were rising would be catastrophic. And instantly we would not be able to finance operations of federal government, because it is financed, its huge deficits are financed by foreign lending of which China is the biggest lender. So their announcement of 2 days ago that actually they control our interest rates was their way of telling us that (program break-away for ads)… they can trump any action that the Federal Reserve could could possibly take, or any other central bank, because of their vast holdings of treasury securities and American $s, both of which are looked at askance, because they are in excess supplies all over the world, due to American budget and trade deficits for so many years.

It’s actually cheaper for China to dump the bonds than to yield to our pressures. And you may know that Treasury Secretary Paulson is just back from Beijing where he ordered the Chinese to revalue their currency, immediately. Well! That was about the stupidest thing anybody could have done, because that was what provoked the Chinese to make their announcement. And their announcement is to let it be known that they’re not going to be bullied, and if US persists in thinking that it has control-over Chinese economic policy, the US is going to find itself in a financial crises much larger than the kind that people are worried about now, the housing, the prime derivatives and so on. So that is the big change in the world and it may be effecting the market. On the other hand, the market may not be smart enough to figure that out, and it may be that the market is only being effected by fears over sub-prime mortgages and derivatives. In which case, if the Chinese bombshell is still to be figured out by the market than it is going to get much worse! On the other hand, the Chinese announcement, if there is any sense in Washington and Wall Street, which you sometimes wonder, it will result in the US government quietly telling China, very quietly, we’ve re-thought this business of your revaluing your currency and we are very glad for your support of the US $. And that then would end this crisis! So if the crisis is to be ended by some commonsense, the like of which is rare or if there is this neo-conservative hedge enemy, super-power attitude, and we’re going to teach those Chinese--They’re going to get their asses kicked! And you are going to see a fantastic economic catastrophe. And so it depends on the intelligence in Washington.

Just to sum this off. I have this to say. That the Americans have been too full of super-power hubris too long. And now Americans are going to have to learn how to live and think in the real world. Not in the delusional world in which they have been living. That time is over and if they can’t wise up and learn to behave intelligently, they’re going to come to a very fast end. …

Strategic thinkers, looking at China’s action are reading more into it. They’re saying that China could care less about American pressures to revalue their currency and that what this warning is really all about is – Don’t you dare attack Iran: Don’t you dare start any more wars, especially when we have energy interests in Iran and when our growing economy manifests from our trade with Iran and the pipelines that we are investing in. Don’t you dare! If you do we are going to pull the plug. The neo-cons have made it clear that they think that we are going to impose hegemony on China. So China and Russia this week formed a military alliance and now there are joint military manoeuvres just as we speak and if the US military can’t occupy Baghdad and Iraq, it damn sure can’t occupy China and Russia. So the kind of war that the neo-cons are pushing for would be a nuclear war. …

Q: The neo-cons are a bunch of chicken-necked cowards. I mean you look at their m.o. A lot of them aren’t really that smart. They’ve always gotten away with whatever they are doing. What do you think is wrong with Israel? What do you think is wrong with the neo-cons? What is wrong even with England? Now they’re starting to back off a little bit, to where – I mean do they think that they can start WWIII and that they’re going to win it? I mean. Why are they so confident when they don’t have anything to be confident about?

A: They’re not smart like our bosses used to be. They’re dumb. They have the mentality of brown-shirts. You know. Why did Hitler march off into Russia? I mean, it didn’t make any sense. So that’s the problem. They aren’t smart.

The trouble with Israel is the violence there, which are a minority and they bully the rest of the Israeli population and scare ‘em to death by provoking terrorist incidences and control the population in that way. And they’re paranoid! And they think that they have to rely on coercion and violence because the Arabs hate them and they can’t make peace with people who hate us we can only fight them. So that’s the huge mistake that Israel has made for half of a century. Here, they have been very effective in controlling the explanation of the Israeli/Arab conflict, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. They have been very effective as fund raisers in being able to elect or defeat whoever they want, whatever Senator, whoever they want in Congress.

Q: But that’s only here. The BS only goes so far?

A: Well! Why does Britain do it? Well! Because we pay them. They’re dependent upon us. Tony Blair probably is being paid in many ways. He’ll be put on many boards. He’ll be protected from the International Criminal Court for his war crimes, because you know he did sign that war crimes agreement. So he would be vulnerable. We offer all kinds of protections and moneys to people. We control Pakistan because we pay the President over there and the same in Egypt. We pay them. We give them money. I don’t mean for their country. We do, do that, but they personally get paid. So we control a lot of people in that way. So if the $ loses its reserve currency status because we monkey too much with the Chinese and they decide to give us a deserved come-uppance, we won’t be able to buy these people. Because the $ won’t be the almighty anymore. It’s almighty because it’s a reserve currency.

Q: If you had to project forward, what do you think is likely?

A: It depends so much on whether there is any intelligence in Washington. And you know - You have to wonder how many times they step on the king cobra before they decide not to step on him again. And so it could all just end without any more trouble. I mean they could wise up and say, hey! You know what, we’ve overestimated our clout. We didn’t realise how vulnerable we are. We’re going to have to get a long with people. We can’t any longer say that we are a super power, unchecked by anything. We don’t have to pay any attention to public opinion here or anywhere else in the world. If they give all that up, then all this could be stabilised and nothing really much happens, other than those bad sub-prime mortgages, a lot of them are going to fail.

Q: But if they don’t?

A: But if they don’t, they are going to provoke the destruction of the US government’s credit. They won’t be able to borrow. They won’t be able to fund the government. They’re going to destroy the $, its reserve currency. We’ll be like any other country. We won’t have the ability to run red ink indefinitely in trade deficits and budget deficits. That will all end immediately. We will probably provoke a war that could develop into the use of nuclear weapons. So it is a very dangerous situation! Given the current stupidity of our government logic.

Alex Jones asked, “Is it stupidity or is it just arrogant, nihilistic, wanton bloodlust?”

Roberts replied, “It’s all of those things.”

Q: There’s a method to their madness. They want to bring order out of chaos. I agree that they’re nuts. It’s just like Carl Rove said. “We control reality.” Now obviously they don’t control reality after a certain point. And it’s this elite, psychopathic, power-trip sickness that they have, that elite’s get throughout history. But I mean. It looks like they want to go ahead and just start WWIII. It looks like they want to go ahead and have some kind of collapse. I mean. They think that a big enough crises will have them come out on top. Or do you disagree with that? Do you think that they just think the Chinese and everybody else are just going to roll over?

A: No. I agree with you. They want war and I also think that they think that everybody will just roll over and it be easy. The question is whether other people will let them. So far they have gotten away with things because no one has really opposed them, because 9/11…terror and all that. But as this thing has now escalated to a new level of realisation, there are a lot of powerful interests don’t want to be destroyed because of these fools. There are other countries, even the American people who might wake up. I mean, who knows what realisation might prevail. So they could be stopped regardless of their plan.

Now, let’s get onto your observation. You’re right. The Chinese did not make a threat. They simply said that they are not going to be bullied and that it wasn’t appropriate for the US to be giving orders to China, who goes out of its way to support the $ even though it has depreciated substantially. They have had huge losses by continuing to hold the $, which has declined dramatically against the British pound, the euro and everything else that’s tradable. And they say, here we are the mainstay of your special borrowing privileges as reserve currency – and you come over here and give us orders? So they’re just simply telling us that they are not going to be bullied. So the threat is not in China. The threat is in Washington. And if people in Washington persist, they’re going to find out that they have more than met their match. … They’re a rising power. They’re not going to be bullied by declining them. They also said that they have no intention of causing a financial crisis. But, if the US persists they can’t guarantee the US won’t cause one. …

So let’s get on from the immediate crises, which we have talked about – to the long-term crisis.

First of all: … It is the long-term crisis that produced China’s power to grab us by the short hairs. The long term crisis is because of the greed of American corporations, who have moved so much of their production of goods and services for the American market off-shore to China. They liquidated the career opportunities for the American population. They moved their power base to China where labour was cheaper, regulatory costs were cheaper, harassment costs were cheaper. … So what happened was – what used to be American gross domestic product was transformed into imports, because the American brand name goods that are sold to us in Wal-Mart and everywhere else are made by American firms who have located their production in China. So this meant that China’s exports went way up, because off-shore production that comes back into the country is considered an export and it meant that they had accumulated tremendous reserves as a creditor, because they had the trade surplus, we were the debtor. So that’s where the reserves came from, the reserves that China has now to give them control over America’s interest rates were created by the greedy American corporations and all the free-trade, free-market economists, who encouraged the movement of American production offshore to China. So that’s where their power came from. And this move also destroyed the ladders of upward mobility in the U.S. And we were taught many times, the jobs that were created here are waitresses/bartenders, hospital orderlies.

Q: In closing: Where do you see all this going? How do we avert what you were talking about with the debasing of the economy and with college students with masters degrees now bar tending?

A: I think that it’s for certain that the sub-prime mortgages are going to unwind. There’s going to be a lot of people losing their houses, several million. This will cause, you know, various financial pains in the system, but it shouldn’t really be effecting stock market interests – that’s why I think it could be this China-thing. Where is it going to go, other than that? That depends, as we said, on the intelligence in Washington. There’s a chance, I think, that even the neo-conservatives, even Cheney don’t have enough hubris and arrogance to think that they can take on China in a financial dispute at the same time that they attack Iran. That’s beyond them, I think, even their hubris. So it is entirely possible Cheney will tell Paulson to cool it with China, because Cheney wants to attack Iran. And so we will have to see whether other players in the system can block the insanity of attacking Iran.

Q: Why do they just love war?

A: One: When he was a young man in the Ford Whitehouse, Cheney was very much frustrated that the President couldn’t do anything, because the Democratic Congress was blocking them all the time and in foreign affairs the Soviets were blocking him. And he’s just tired of being blocked all his life. He’s frustrated. He wants to strike out and assert American power. So that could be one explanation. You know. Long, brewing resentments: Inability to let somebody feel the power.

Another one could be that he’s set, as he’s older and more mature he’s been associated with the defence industry and this is a chance for him to get stinking rich. And therefore he has a material interest. Yeah! And a cocktail of those together can explain it.

And then of course, there’s all this neo-con ideology and you get people marching around thinking they’re Napoleon. So that could be that explanation of Dick Cheney.

And the big problem is that so much of American production of goods and services for American markets is moved off-shore or is filled with foreigners here on work visas, so that the opportunities for college-educated Americans are declining dramatically. As I have told you before on this program, so far in the 21stC not a single net new job has been created in tradable goods and services. The jobs for professionals, you know, with engineers, computer engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers; all those jobs are disappearing, because all that stuffs moved off-shore. And so what we are doing is graduating all these people who have got no careers in front of them and they have got huge debt. So when you dismantle the ladders that create middle-class and upward mobility, you polarize the population – a few super rich now and then you’re going to have everybody else having a hard time making ends meet. Now that is a great threat to freedom, to democracy, to liberty. It’s a very politically unstable…

Q: How do we reverse that? Is there any levers left?

A: We can’t do anything until we get realisation. And I think that people may be more aware now that China has a certain amount of power to exercise and they are aware of what off-shoring has done to the U.S. and to the careers of future generations of Americans.

Q: So people have to get educated first and get mad and to really learn about the system before we are going to turn anything around?

A: Yeah! And even then it’s going to be hard. To run for President you have to raise 100 million $s. To run for Congress you gotta raise at least 20 million. There are only about 4 or 5 powerful big money interest groups that finance these campaigns. So they end up controlling the government. So that in one sense may be our salvation now. I’m not sure those big groups want to march into Armageddon in the Middle East and they don’t want to march into the destruction of the $ currency.

Q: We know from different globalist meetings, even public ones like … and Bilderberg that now about 65% of the elite do not like what’s happening and for the first time since Brenton Woods there are real fissues now – where they are actually screaming at each other?

A: They are threatened now by these idiot neo-cons and this moron in the Whitehouse and by this sicko vice-president. They are threatened by it and they now realise it. Who knows whether they can do anything about it. I don’t know if they can or not, but I do know that they realise it that it’s a threat to their …

Q: Why then did the elite let this bunch of neo-cons in control?

A: I think that they saw it as a way of increasing power in the Presidency, which they expected to control. And through increasing power of the Am. Presidency, increasing their power and hegemony over the rest of the world, I think that they saw the neo-cons as dupes and tools of their own strategies. But it turned out that the neo-cons were an independent force and are backed by Israel, which has its own purposes in the world and are independent of the Bilderbergs. And so it got to be a confusing situation. I think maybe that some elites… They don’t talk to me of course. They never let me join in on the organisation, but I think that they are aware that the situation developed differently than they hoped.

Q: There was a big story in the Philadelphia news yesterday. With the headline, you know, wishing for another 9-11. How another 9-11 could save America. And we’ve got all these former senators, members of congress, republican memos – saying that they need another 9-11. A: (chuckle) Well! As we’ve talked the other day, the republican part desperately needs another 9-11 so it is not wiped out in the 08 election. And I think that if the terrorists don’t do one, then they will be inclined to do one themselves.

Q: Alex ran through the news pertinent to keeping the pressure up about going into Iran.

A: Iran: It depends in part on what Russia and China tell us. And if these strategic planners are correct that what I noted and pointed out really means that China is telling us to re-think Iran and hands off, that they don’t give a flying crap about the currency pressures, because they aren’t going to pay any attention to it anyhow and that this is really a message to control our foreign policy. If this was really an act by China to control our foreign policy, otherwise destroy us financially, without firing a shot. Now if that is true then we won’t be able to attack Iran, unless we are just so dense that we just don’t get the message. Now I don’t know if that was what China meant or not. If it is - It will become increasingly clear and also I think that the fact that Chinese and Russians are holding joint military manoeuvres and both have announced crash programs to upgrade their nuclear strike force. It’s just to remind us that we are vulnerable.

See. The Bush administration has fallen into the delusion that Hitler got into. That he is invulnerable - that a tiny country like Germany could occupy Russia. I mean, it’s madness. Everybody knew it was madness. His generals knew that it was madness. Nobody believed in that. Stalin thought that he was so mad that he didn’t even defend against it. Initially Hitler had great success because it was so audacious. Until the Russians said ok, now you’ve had it. You have gone in far enough that you can’t get out - alive. In WWII was lost to Stalingrad long before we ever got involved in Normandy. After that it didn’t matter.

You can look at it this way now. China has sucked us in for a decade in off-shoring. That’s where 1.3 trillion in US assets came from. That’s where their power over our interest rates came from. And you had all the American government’s aiding all the off-shoring to China, because it would mean cheap goods in Wal-Mart. And now we’re going to pay the price for those cheap goods.
